Exchange 2010 Service MSExchangeTransport failed to reach status Running

Posted on Monday, April 12th, 2010 at 9:26 pm in

Hy

While installing another Exchange 2010 Server in a TestVM i’ve received the following error during the setup:

Error:

The following error was generated when “$error.Clear(); if ($RoleStartTransportService) {start-SetupService ÔÇôServiceName MSExchangeTransport }” was run: “Service ÔÇÜMSExchangeTransport’ failed to reach status ‘Running’ on this server.”.

The resolution is as easy as strange 😉

Before running the setup I’ve removed IPV6 from the NIC ÔÇô Binding.

So after I’ve enabled the IPv6 Binding on the NIC again Setup was running fine.

I solved the problem by installing IPv6 protocol. I originaly turned it off because Exchange wanted a static IP address and I could not set it on the IPv6 because it kept telling me it was invalid. If anyone has information on this please let me know.

This is awesome… Why wont MS make this a prerequisite BEFORE we try to install Exchange!
