Exchange 2010 – Service ‚MSExchangeTransport‘ failed to reach status ‚Running‘

Hy

While installing another Exchange 2010 Server in a TestVM i’ve received the following error during the setup:

Error:

The following error was generated when “$error.Clear(); if ($RoleStartTransportService) {start-SetupService –ServiceName MSExchangeTransport }” was run: “Service ‚MSExchangeTransport’ failed to reach status ‘Running’ on this server.”.

The resolution is as easy as strange ;)

Before running the setup I’ve removed IPV6 from the NIC – Binding.

So after I’ve enabled the IPv6 Binding on the NIC again Setup was running fine.

I solved the problem by installing IPv6 protocol. I originaly turned it off because Exchange wanted a static IP address and I could not set it on the IPv6 because it kept telling me it was invalid. If anyone has information on this please let me know.

This is awesome… Why wont MS make this a prerequisite BEFORE we try to install Exchange!
